New BioFaculty: Fall 2006

We welcome Dr. Xin Fan to the Department of Biology. Dr. Fan earned her BS in pharmaceutical science from Jiangxi College of Medicine, China, her MS in pharmaceutical chemistry from China’s Kunming Medical College, and her Ph.D. in microbiology is from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fan was a lecturer in microbiology at Thomas Jefferson University, a lecturer in new drug development and pharmaceutical chemistry at Jiangxi College of Chinese Medicine, and a postdoctoral fellow in the University of Pennsylvania’s Infectious Diseases Division. She is a microbiologist who does research on viruses and vaccines and has several publications on this research. She received both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral grants from NIH.
