Dr. Frank Fish, biology, published an invited article “Passive and active flow control by swimming fishes and mammals” in the Annual Review of Fluid Mechanics 38: 193-224 (2006). The article was co-author with Dr. George Lauder of Harvard University.
Dr. Fish also presented the paper “Dolphin flukes as passively self-adjusting flexible propulsors” at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology. The paper was co-authored with biology undergraduate Moira Nusbaum, Dr. John Beneski, biology, Dr. Darlene Ketten of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and Dr. Terrie Williams of the Long Marine Laboratory of the University of California at Santa Cruz. Dr. Fish was featured in an article “Faster than they should be” that appeared in the February 2006 issue of Discover magazine. Dr. Fish also was highlighted in the Educator Spotlight of the Chester County Neighbors section of the Philadelphia Inquirer (January 1, 2006). |
