The B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology offers the student a strong
background in both biology and chemistry. Emphasis on lab-oriented
courses prepares the student to pursue a career in laboratory research
in cell and molecular biology at industrial, medical, academic, and
government facilities. This program also prepares the student for
admission to graduate and professional schools.

Department Requirements:
Required Biology Courses (28 semester hours)
BIO 110, 214, 215 or 217, 220, 230, 421, 431,BIL 333, and BIO 409/490/491.
Biology or Chemistry Electives (12 semester hours)
Selected from courses at or above the 300 level.

Other Science Requirements: (30 semester hours)
CHE 103-104, 231-232, 476, CRL 103-104, 231, 476 and PHY 130-140.

Mathematics Requirements: (6-7 semester hours)
MAT 121 and one semester of calculus.
*CHE 103, PHY 130, and MAT 121 may be used to fulfill General Education requirements.
