Epcot innterns develop new skills in their area of expertise and
enhance their communication and Guest service
abilities while working for one of the most recognized
and respected companies in the world...DISNEY!  
 
Epcot® is the Discovery Park at the WALT DISNEY
WORLD® Resort.  The Epcot® Science Team is responsible
for the greenhouses, labs and aquaculture facility of The
Land, the agriculture pavilion at Epcot®.
 
The Epcot® Science Professional Internship Program  
is designed to provide qualified college students with the
opportunity to work in the unique growing areas that are  
part of the Living with The Land boat ride attraction at
Epcot®.  Become a part of the team that brings the
excitement of agricultural sciences to millions of Epcot®
Guests each year! RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interns work 30-40 hours/week with some overtime
possible.  They spend up to 25% of their time leading
informative, interactive Guest tours through
greenhouses and labs, and helping to promote and sell
the tours.  Interns participate in training sessions, classes,
and meetings as scheduled. Other duties vary by discipline:
 
Aquaculture
Operate and maintain a recirculating freshwater facility:
monitor filtration systems and water quality, assist in
diagnosis and control of disease, and raise fish to
marketable size for Epcot® restaurants.
 
Biotechnology
Prepare media, tissue culture a wide variety of plants, clean
glassware, and collect, package, and deliver tissue-cultured
plants to Epcot® merchandise locations
 
Entomology
Rear and maintain insect colonies, release beneficial
insects and predator mites into greenhouse crops, assist
with research in biological control and greenhouse IPM
programs, and maintain entomology-related shows.
 
Plant Science
Maintain a high-quality show of hydroponically-grown food
crops from around the globe: seed, transplant, irrigate, and
prune plants; harvest produce for Epcot® restaurants; rake,
sweep, and provide general cleanup of greenhouses.  
 
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• College student or recent graduate (must complete
internship within one year of graduation) with
background and/or major in agriculture, plant science,
horticulture, food crops, biology, botany, biotechnology,
entomology, aquaculture, education, or related field.
• Completed application packet (see below) and phone
interview with an Epcot® Science Cast Member four to
12 months before desired starting date.  
• Team player with demonstrated verbal communication
skills and the ability to interact positively with both Walt
Disney World© Guests and fellow Cast Members.
• Demonstrated work ethic, reliable transportation, and
willingness to work on a flexible schedule.  
• Willingness and ability to adhere to Walt Disney World©
grooming standards.
 
SIX-MONTH TERMS:
Summer/Fall ’07 (June 15, ’07–Jan. 6, ’08)
Winter/Spring ’08 (Dec. 28, ’07–June 22, ’08)
 
Every six months thereafter, with similar dates as above.

anticipated graduation date and the internship and term you
are applying for, along with your resume, transcripts, and
one letter of recommendation (from professor or employer)
to the address below.  Then, go to
http://disneyinterns.com.  Click on “Apply Online”, and
type in key words: science internship. Click on the
internship(s) of your choice and fill out application.  Call or
email (see below) with any questions.
